Couples of all ages benefit from the ministries and activities supported by the Married Adult Ministry here at First Baptist Church. Our Married Adult Ministry will connect you to other Christian couples through Sunday School, offer hope for the hitched through marriage enrichment classes and conferences and equip you both to serve the Lord together as partners in a covenant relationship.
Sunday School - Are you and your spouse looking for opportunities to connect with other Christian couples? Attending a coed Sunday School class will enable you to learn about God’s Word together, along with other couples who are hungry to understand and apply the Scriptures. Attending a coed Sunday School class also is one of the best ways to meet other married people and to find encouragement and support from other Christian couples. Many Sunday School classes schedule regular fellowship events and outings like ski trips, retreats, Super Bowl parties, dinners, Christmas gatherings, etc. You’ll find coed classes for couples at all four hours of Sunday School: 8:00, 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. and at 5:00 p.m. For a list of classes, please contact Mark Lewis, Minister to Adults at 615.447.1307 or at mlewis@fbchtn.org.

Marriage Counseling - The Babb Center offers marriage counseling, as well as family and individual counseling by trained professionals. The Babb Center is a ministry extension of First Baptist. Call 615.824.3772 to schedule an appointment. Click on Counseling (under Ministries on the menu above) for more information on the Babb Center.
Marriage Enrichment Conference - Every October, couples of all ages are invited to participate in a church-sponsored conference or retreat. This weekend get away helps couples refocus on their relationships in an environment free from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Call the church office for more details. Childcare is not included.
Valentine’s Day Dinner for Couples - Every February, First Baptist hosts the annual Valentine’s Day Dinner for Couples. Tickets are sold in January and early February at the promotions center near the sanctuary on Sundays and from the church office during weekdays. Admission includes dinner for two, entertainment and childcare.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry - Looking for an opportunity to serve together at the church? First Baptist supports a 24 hour intercessory prayer ministry. Couples can serve together for an hour a week in the church’s prayer room lifting up requests that have been submitted either on line or through our prayer hotline (826.PRAY). Call the adult ministry office to discover what days and times are available for you and your spouse. Serving in the intercessory prayer ministry is the perfect way for you and your partner to pray and serve together.
