Smoke on the Water

Smoke on the Water Logo (word "water" is shaped like a fish)Smoke on the Water is back! After a taking a year off we’re returning to the water for some gatherin’, hamburger grillin’ and a message from Brady Cooper, pastor of New Vision Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. The date is Saturday, September 6, which is the weekend after Labor Day. Don’t worry…there’s no UT two men singing at the lakegame that weekend. We’ll travel by boat or by car to Lone Branch Recreation Area in Mt. Juliet.

Tickets are $3 per person and are on sale in the promotions booth. Invite your friends and coworkers.

Here’s the scoop:

  • If you don’t have a boat but would like to come, no problem. You can drive or we will find a boat for you to ride in.

  • If you have a boat or a personal watercraft (Jet Ski, Sea Doo, etc.) bring it either by road or water to Avondale Access on Old Hickory Lake (off of Shute’s Lane, just past Jack Anderson Elementary). We’ll leave Avondale at 11:00 a.m., so be in the water and ready to go before then.

  • We’ll head upstream as a group to Lone Branch Recreation Area. Lone Branch is in the same cove as Cedar Creek (on the Mt. Juliet side of the lake, just before you get to Cages Bend, going upstream).

  • After anchoring, we’ll have lunch, music, and a message just for men from Brady Cooper.

  • After Brady’s message, everyone who wants to will head back, but not as a group. Some may go straight back, some may take their time, some may play on the lake for a while.
