Kindred Souls

Why have a Women's Mentoring Ministry?

Mentoring is scriptural. Titus 2:3-5 says "Teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then, they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the Word of God."

Women need each other. Through the encouragement that a woman can give another, spiritual growth occurs for the both of them. The investment of mentoring pays big dividends of "fruit" and blessings.

How the ministry works.

Kindred Souls is a six-month commitment of two women, one older and wiser (the mentor) who has had the "been there, done that and God helped me through" life experiences, and one younger (the mentee) who desires a godly role model to help her reach the next level of spiritual growth. You will sign a covenant stating you will meet together regularly, preferably once a week. Mentoring can include discipleship/Bible study, accountability, and help with issues such as parenting. It is unique to the two of you.

To get involved in the ministry, you need to attend an orientation/informational coffee and kick-off. The orientation coffee gives you an overview of how to get involved.
